Cuddle therapy boundaries: how to talk about platonic touch

Closeness works better when neither person has to guess what the other means.

Make the request specific

Instead of “Is this okay?” name the touch you’d like to try: “Would you like to hold hands?” A specific question makes room for a specific answer.

Separate yes from politeness

You can take a moment before answering. You can say “not yet,” “something else,” or simply “no.” You don’t need to soften a boundary with an apology.

Agree on a pause

Before touch begins, choose a simple way to stop. Saying “pause” or moving away should be enough to prompt a check-in—not an argument.

Respect both people

Boundaries matter for both you and Jax. Clear limits keep the service platonic and help each person understand the agreement.
